Windows xp no sound compaq 6500nx, no mixer devices available?

Still having trouble with my compaq presario s6500nx desktop, i have tried everything and nothing has worked. Ive updated the driver, ive deleted and reinstalled the drivers, Ive downloaded the realtec 97 hd sound driver, ive went into bios and enabled, disabled, and selected automatic, ive went into services.msc and restarted the driver, still no luck. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix my sound issue?
