Are Chihuahuas good dogs?

Well, I'm getting a Chihuahua to shut my baby Sophia up! Lol! She's nearly 1. I think Chihuahuas are really cute but I don't know, are they hard to handle? Which name is better? Poppy, Lulu or Mittens? I might name it one of them. It's a girl so if you know any nice names, please tell me. Thank You Guys! :) x
